“Es como si una goma elástica me atara a ese instante”. Los títeres que protagonizan el vídeo con el que Linnea Hansander nos sumerge en esta exhibición atraviesan un proceso de duelo colectivo. Unidos por una pérdida compartida, lidian con el dolor como pueden. En ocasiones recurren a canciones de Guns N’ Roses, en otras relatan sus pesadillas. Cuando no están filosofando sobre la muerte, recrean escenas pasadas mediante construcciones minúsculas. Uno de los títeres parece convencido de que la respuesta está en los libros, citando a John Berger para inocular al grupo con una idea: ¿Y si fuéramos parte de una misma comunidad junto a los muertos? ¿Qué pasaría si pudiésemos desprendernos de este tiempo que creemos tan nuestro, en el que el ayer ya fue y el porvenir está por venir? ¿Y si el amor nos estuviera queriendo enseñar que nada acaba, que siempre es demasiado tarde?<\/h5>\n
En See You in Heaven Hansander nos acerca a los goces y los miedos que conlleva poder imaginar la eternidad, y lo hace con humor, haciendo uso de la música pop y el juego. La instalación divide el espacio expositivo en diferentes estaciones, proponiendo una suerte de colapso temporal mediante un listado de pequeños rituales (fundirse en una mirada con Elton John, dejarse transportar al pasado por un sofá, enfundarse unos brazos extra). La última estación está reservada para una performance grupal que Hansander denomina Repeat Karaoke: una invitación a cantar que ofrece la posibilidad de escoger una única canción. Mientras que anteriormente la artista optó por clásicos como ‘Heaven’ (Bryan Adams) o ‘Without You’ (Mariah Carey), en esta ocasión el Repeat Karaoke se adapta al contexto local. Para la apertura de la muestra Hansander nos acompañará a interpretar una y otra vez ‘Puede Ser’, tema de El Canto del Loco y Amaia Montero.<\/h5>\n
‘See You in Heaven’ surge de una colaboración entre FASE<\/a>, la plataforma Playlist Curada<\/a> y el colectivo Fuxia 2<\/a>. La muestra se completa con una lista de reproducción<\/a> formada por algunas de las canciones recopiladas durante este proceso. El recuerdo de una exhibición que momentáneamente ató Barcelona, Malmö, Estocolmo y Buenos Aires con una goma elástica. O quizá una incitación a imaginar rituales futuros.<\/h5>\n<\/div>\n

“It feels like I’m tied to that moment with a rubber band”. The video work through which we enter Linnea Hansander’s exhibition stars a group of puppets. United by a common loss, they are undergoing a process of collective mourning, dealing with the pain as best as they can. At times they resort to Guns N’ Roses songs, at others they share their nightmares. When they are not pondering the meaning of death, they build tiny models recreating old memories. One of the puppets seems to be convinced that books hold the answer, quoting John Berger in order to pitch an idea to the group: what if we are all part of the great collective of the dead? Could we get rid of time, of the feeling that the past has passed and that what is to come is yet to come? What if love is trying to teach us that nothing ever ends, that it is always already too late?<\/span><\/h5>\n
With <\/span>See You in Heaven<\/span><\/i> Hansander brings us closer to the pleasures and fears that come with being able to imagine eternity, and she does it with humor, making use of pop music and playfulness. Dividing the space into different stations, the installation stages a temporal collapse of sorts by proposing a series of subtle rituals (melting into each other’s eyes with Elton John, a time traveling session hosted by a sofa, putting on a pair of extra arms). The last station is dedicated to a group performance called Repeat Karaoke, where Hansander invites us to choose between a single song. While the artist has previously selected classics like ‘Heaven’ (Bryan Adams) or ‘Without You’ (Mariah Carey), this time the performance has been adapted to the local context. For the opening of the exhibition Hansander will sing ‘Puede Ser’, by El Canto del Loco and Amaia Montero, together with us (over and over again).<\/span><\/h5>\n
See You in Heaven<\/span><\/i> emerges from a collaboration between FASE<\/a>, the platform Playlist Curada<\/a> and the collective Fuxia 2<\/a>. The installation is accompanied by a Playlist<\/a> made up of some songs compiled along the way. A playlist that is also a keepsake of an exhibition which momentarily tied Barcelona, Malmö, Stockholm and Buenos Aires together with a rubber band. Or perhaps a proposal to imagine future rituals. <\/span><\/h5>\n
