Gris García<\/strong><\/span> (1986\/ Monterrey, México)<\/strong><\/span><\/div>\n

Gris García’s work lies at the intersection of artistic, curatorial and pedagogical practices that emerge from dialogues and correspondences with others to produce site-specific and unpublished projects. She has a BFA degree in Visual Arts at the UANL, Mexico. García has exhibited her work in Mexico, Spain, Colombia, Greece, Russia, and Canada. She has also obtained an MA in Artistic Research and Production from the University of Barcelona with the support of the Mexican grant FONCA-CONACULTA, and the MACBA’s PEI recognized as MA in Advanced Museum Studies and Critical Theory. Her practice as a curator includes projects such as <\/span>Museo Oral de la Revolución<\/span><\/i> as part of Paul B. Preciado’s curatorial team; <\/span>Balmes 88<\/span><\/i> for a3bandas; <\/span>Las condiciones posibles<\/span><\/i>, and amongst her most recent works,<\/span> Casa Entera<\/span><\/i> a nomadic project. García was curator at the project space Lugar a dudas (September-2014 \/ March-2015) in Colombia. In addition, she was a professor in curatorial and critical studies at ITM University in Medellin, Colombia in 2016. In 2017, she was part of Capacete Residency, a guest project by Documenta 14, between Kassel and Athens. In 2019, García received the Curatorial Research Jumex Foundation Grant. From 2018 to 2020 she was the Academic Program Coordinator at SOMA in Mexico City and Academic Program Coordinator at Metáfora Studio Arts between 2021 to 2023. Currently, she is a candidate for the PhD in Practice at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna.<\/span><\/p>\n

Su trabajo está centrado en las prácticas contemporáneas y en aquellas producciones híbridas que se generan a partir del diálogo y las correspondencias con otrxs. <\/span><\/span>Estudió  Artes Visuales en la UANL (Monterrey, México). Cursó la maestría de Producción e Investigación Artística en la Universidad de Barcelona con el apoyo de FONCA CONACULTA. Realizó el Programa de Estudios Independientes del Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Barcelona reconocido como maestría en “Estudios museísticos avanzados y teoría crítica”. Ha comisariado proyectos como Museo Oral de la Revolución en el equipo curatorial de Paul B. Preciado para el MACBA y Balmes 88 para A3Bandas en España, ha sido Mediadora de proyectos en la Sala de Arte Joven de Barcelona. Fue Curadora de Lugar a dudas 2014-2015 Cali, Colombia. Ha sido profesora de la Facultad de Artes y Humanidades en el ITM, Universidad en Medellín, Colombia. Hizo parte de la residencia Capacete 2017 en el marco de Documenta 14 entre Atenas y Kassel. Curadora del proyecto itinerante Casa Entera que se ha presentado en España, Colombia, Grecia y México. En 2019 fue acreedora del Patrocinio de Investigación Curatorial de Fundación JUMEX. De 2018 a 2020 fue Coordinadora del Programa Educativo SOMA. Coordinadora del Studio Arts Program en Metàfora, Barcelona de 2021 al 2023. Actualmente es candidata al PhD in Practice de la Academia de Bellas Artes de Viena. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
